State message guidance to accompany new EPI report “Trump’s deportation agenda will destroy millions of jobs”
Message guidance for state advocates — NOT FOR PUBLICATION
Note to EARN groups and state labor partners:
This resource is being provided by EPI to EARN network groups and close partners in conjunction with publication of the new EPI report “Trump’s deportation agenda will destroy millions of jobs.” It draws on data from the new report along with other recent EPI and EARN network analysis of the state impacts of Trump’s inhumane, radical, anti-worker attacks on immigrant communities (see fuller list of recent publications at end of this document).
The new report includes state-level data estimating overall and construction employment impacts of Trump’s deportation agenda in Figure B., and in Appendix Tables 1 and 2.
We encourage you to also consider sharing content from EPI’s Social Media Toolkit accompanying the new report.
This resource list for state and local advocates compiles tools and resources, including EARN and EPI immigration research, policy guidance for state & local governments and for schools (K-12 and higher ed), overviews/landscape summaries of state immigration legislation and policy, and messaging guidance.
This toolkit is for lawmakers, policy experts, advocates, and grassroots activists (including students and parents) interested in helping their state and localities make the CROWN Act law.
These workbooks track spending of the $350 billion in State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) awarded to state, local, territorial, and tribal governments in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting economic downturn. The U.S. Treasury mandated that these funds were obligated for use by December 31st 2024. We hope this analysis helped ensure effective use of these funds in your communities.
These workbooks analyze the Treasury’s 2024 reporting data by fiscal quarter, ending March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31, 2024 respectively. Please note that the Q2 release does not include Annual Project and Expenditure reports for smaller SLFRF recipients (metro cities and counties with populations under 250,000 and allocations under $10 million, Tribal governments with allocations under $30 million, and non-entitlement local governments). For data on these smaller localities, refer to the Q1, Q3, and Q4 workbooks.
